
Started in 1968, the Gretna Volunteer Rescue Squad (Squad 10) has been helping the the community for almost 40 yrs.
Located in the Northern part of Pittsylvania County, in the town of Gretna, Squad 10 consist of approximately 45 members.
All of these members are
volunteers, receiving no compensation for
their efforts. It is all done out of a sense of
community
and the desire to help others. These people are
true
hero's, responding to calls in the middle of the night, sacrificing personal
and family time to help their friends and neighbors.
The Rescue Squad currently operates three ambulances, one crash truck and one automobile.
